Our Third Marathon

After two successful Marathons raising over £20,000, The Beatles Marathon UK returns to Portobello Town Hall on Saturday 14th November 2026 for a jam-packed day of hits by the fab four – all to raise money for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The premise is simple: 13 bands will take on the entire back catalogue of The Beatles, stopping only to change equipment and instruments.

The Marathon is designed to be a family-fun day out for all, with food and drink options available on site. You’re also free to come and go as you please.

Our Cause

Supporting the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation is personal to us.

Co-founders Stuart and Scott McGachan and their older sister Clare grew up to the sound of The Beatles thanks to their dad, Pat.

In 2021, their father Pat McGachan was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. MND affects the brain and nerves, causing weakness that gets worse over time. There is no cure – only treatments to reduce the impact it has on a person’s life.

Pat sadly lost his battle with MND in 2023.

The Beatles Marathon UK now stands as a tribute to Pat and all those battling MND. Funds raised will empower the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to support individuals like Pat and provide much-needed assistance to families like the McGachans as they navigate the most challenging chapters of their lives.
