Co-founders Stuart and Scott McGachan lost their father to Motor Neuron Disease (MND) late 2023, just days before the first Beatles Marathon UK. You can read the full story here, but it is safe to say that the cause is very personal to them, and all of us involved with The Beatles Marathon UK.
So it only made sense to support the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. They are a lifeline for those diagnosed or suffering with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), which affects the motor neurons of the nervous system. It is a life shortening disease, and usually progresses rapidly.
The Foundation was established by Doddie Weir OBE, the iconic Scottish Rugby Union player who was diagnosed with MND in December 2016. He became a fierce campaigner for research into the disease, establishing the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which is as strong as ever today.
We are proud to support the brilliant work of the Foundation. You can find out more about them below.
