We are hugely appreciative of the support that comes with simply attending The Beatles Marathon UK, but if you have read our story and are keen to make a further donation to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, here’s how to do it.
We will be adding a facility to make donations here soon.
Our aims as The Beatles Marathon UK are twofold:
- Raise as much money as possible for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation so that one day, Motor Neuron Disease will be no more.
- Entertain everyone who joins us with all of the hits from the Fab Four, as we navigate through The Beatles’ back catalogue from noon to night.
The reasons are very personal for us – our co-founders Stuart and Scott lost their father, Pat McGachan, to Motor Neuron Disease. There are many stories like theirs, including Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir OBE.
The disease is rapidly life-ending, and we are determined to do our part so that one day, Motor Neuron Disease is a thing of the past. In the meantime, charities such as the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation support families receiving news of a diagnosis for the first time, supporting those who are living with the disease, and helping those whose lives are upturned as a result.
