Taking their name from John Lennon’s characteristically witty statement at the start of Two of Us on album Let it Be, The Charles Hawtrey Band was the first to open at the inaugural Beatles Marathon UK in 2023 and have played every Marathon since. The band has reconfigured since the first time and now comprises brothers Tommy and John on vocals, guitarist/vocals David Donaldson and David Wallace, base by Paul Rodgers, and Dave Maxwell on drums. The Charles Hawtrey Band will be playing the album Beatles For Sale.
The individual members perform, write and record under various outfits including: The Kitchen Stools, Set Theory, The Belrocks, Sleeping Dogs and The Julz Costello Band while the singing brothers are part of a gigging band know as Loose Change.
